Technology Used in Our Store

We are always looking for better ways to serve our clients. Many times new technology can help us obtain and also provide better information. It can allow us to show clients the intricacies of the jewelry world in a way that can be easily understood. The following are just a few amazing technological tools we use here in our lab and show room. When you come in next time, be sure to ask about them, and we’ll show you some remarkable things!

Sarin Brilliant Eye
The Sarin Brilliant Eye is a computerized program that uses a laser to analyze the proportions of a diamond. The cutting proportions of a diamond play a large role in how much light is returned from the diamond to the viewer's eye, the diamond's brilliance. By using this analysis, we can give you as much, if not more, information on the cut of a diamond than you can get on a diamond grading report from a diamond lab.

Dia View
The Dia View is a magnified video camera that allows us to show you, on a television screen, features of a diamond, gemstone, finished piece of jewelry, or details regarding repair work. Now you can see what we see under our jeweler’s loupe without having to learn how to look through the loupe yourself!  We love being able to discuss things while we are all looking at the item at the same time.

Digital Goldsmith
Digital Goldsmith is a computerized jewelry design program that we can use to show you different designs or ideas of potential pieces of jewelry. By utilizing the program we can change many design elements from the diamond size or shape to the metal color to different potential colored gemstones to be featured in your next piece of jewelry. Digital Goldsmith also has a digital camera attachment that can be used to take a picture of your piece of jewelry. Then we can alter it to show what that 3 carat diamond might look like in your existing setting!

Gemprint
Gemprint is a means by which a diamond can be positively identified by photographing the pattern of reflections created when a low-level laser light strikes the gemstone.  Your gemstone, and only your gemstone, will give this unique pattern. No more worry about your gemstone being “switched” while in a repair shop – you can now know for certain that you have your original gemstone.

You should also know that some insurance companies now give insurance coverage discounts on jewelry when the major gemstones have been gemprinted.
